MORTAL PREY

With lyrical Southern accents and charm, Eric Conger transports the listener to the Deep South as he dramatizes Sandford's latest suspense-filled thriller. In menacing tones Conger depicts the treachery and intrigue of this fast-paced drama as Investigator Lucas Davenport hunts down Clara Rinker, female assassin. Normally Rinker is paid to kill, but this time she's in pursuit of personal vengeance. Conger portrays gender changes with skill and does exceptional regional accents. Graphic torture and foul language interspersed throughout make this an undesirable listen for the squeamish, and the tense story screeches to a halt with an ending that falls flat. G.D.W.
