GOODNIGHT, BEAUTIFUL WOMEN

Alyssa Bresnahan and Eva Kaminsky alternate the narration of Noyes's debut collection of stories featuring the women of a New England coastal town. Both narrators complement Noyes's prowess with the short story form. They dynamically voice a varied cast of characters with genuine and sometimes haunting emotions, and unfurl tightly constructed plotlines involving sexuality, intimacy, trauma, and abandonment with deliberate pacing and precision. Both women are incredibly authentic, hitting Noyes's distinctive and dark notes in just the right tones. It's easy for the listener to fall under the spell of both words and voices.
