2000X

Hosted by Harlan Ellison and produced by Yuri Rasovsky for National Public Radio, "2000X" is a series of classic and contemporary science fiction stories beautifully rendered for radio. The stories are by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Mark Twain, Ray Bradbury, and Ursula K. Le Guin. Harlan Ellison stars in his own story, "Repent Harlequin!' Said the Ticktockman," along with Stefan Rudnicki, Arte Johnson, and Robin Williams as an anarchic vigilante hero. The classic 1920 Czech play, "R.U.R." (which popularized the word "robot") features David Birney as a director of a robotics firm in a world that is quickly making humanity obsolete.
