This contemporary story of faith and friendship is performed with intensity by Cynthia Darlow. School cafeteria manager Margaret Tuttle has let the wounds of her past shut her off from relationships. Working with the faith-filled Birdie Freeman is exactly what Margaret needs to overcome her isolation. Darlow portrays Birdie with innocence and optimism, in a sharp contrast to the bitter Margaret. However, by the end of the work, as Birdie's impact deepens, the listener can sense the changes in Margaret as her attitude towards life and God is altered.
