Listeners of a certain age will likely recognize singer-songwriter Judy Collins's lilting voice and graceful style as she sensitively shares the story of her ongoing battles with compulsive overeating and alcoholism. Collins sounds a bit tired, or perhaps we hear all of her 77 years, in this history of dieting and weight-loss experts combined with a brief episodic autobiography. Some of the audio appeal is dissipated by the seemingly endless survey of renowned nutrition and diet specialists. Nonetheless, folk and pop music fans alike, along with those who wish greater information on addiction and allergies to common foods, will enjoy this listening experience.
