NORTH OF NOWHERE

Author Steve Hamilton shares another great yarn about Alex McKnight and his life as a near hermit in Paradise, a small town in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Paradise is located somewhere north of nowhere, according to one of Alex's cronies. As McKnight turns 49, he withdraws into a deep funk. His best friend, Jackie, goads him into a poker game with men he barely knows. Masked robbers break up the game, holding the players at gunpoint while they loot a secret stash within the house. Events go downhill from there, spiraling into a complex dilemma of deceit and greed. Reader Nick Sullivan presents a strong interpretation of these bizarre events.
