This audio surveys cardiology, answering virtually every question a patient could have on the topic. As a technical guide, it covers the rare and common cardiovascular problems, with many detailed descriptions of the procedures one can encounter when being evaluated or treated. The audio's gift is to help us see the range of circulatory problems possible and to appreciate the vulnerability of this organ to dietary abuse, physical neglect, and denial of symptoms. With advances in cardiology hitting the popular press daily, this 1993 work (updated in 2000) misses a few beats here and there, especially in the dietary area. But the overall effect is to draw attention to an organ easily taken for granted. T.W.
