THE DYING GROUND

by | Read by J.D. Jackson

Mystery & Suspense • 8.75 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2001

A young drug lord is gunned down in the Oakland streets, and his missing girlfriend is the primary suspect. It's up to the dead man's two best friends to save her from his vengeful gang and identify the real killer. J.D. Jackson has a wonderful voice for the various young men depicted in this urban crime story. However, his female voices are indistinct from those of the male characters, making listening to dialogue between the sexes confusing. Jackson's French accent for the hero's Creole grandparents is a garbled interpretation of a Louisiana accent. Ultimately, this audio is not worth the listener's time. P.R.
