A GAME OF SCANDAL

In 1808, Lady Lilith and Gabriel, Earl of Angelwood, are caught in a compromising position. The "ruined" Lilith is packed off to Italy. Meanwhile, back at the manse, Gabriel's father loses everything, including his life, because of his compulsive gambling. When the couple meet again 10 years later, Gabe is deeply committed to eliminating gaming halls, while Lily, after her stint as a sadder-but-wiser girl, earns her livelihood by operating one. Intrigue chases scandal. Vanessa Maroney's performance makes this Regency romance sparkle. No ironic remark is missed, no subtext overlooked. The London set is mannered and bitchy, and Maroney seems to be having as much fun as the Lady and the Earl.
