THE COMPLEAT SILVER LINING

In this delightful miscellany of short verse read by popular film and TV actors the readers have apparently chosen their favorite selections. It's a conservative repertoire; e.e. cummings is as avant garde as it gets. Considering the disparate abilities and styles of these players, the readings are consistently excellent, if the sound quality is not. Producer Craig Braginsky has tastefully added electronic music to the pieces that inspired him. The recording makes a particularly apt gift to one's beloved, for while only a few of the poems concern romantic love, the general tone is gently lyrical.
