Timothy Zahn has created a universe in which mankind faces war against a newly discovered alien race. This universe is successfully brought to life by the exceptional talents of the readers. The first book of the trilogy focuses on the human perspective of the war; the second addresses the alien perspective. The unusual language of the aliens is skillfully delivered, easing the necessity for listeners to encounter these new words on their own. The smooth presentations enhance the listening experience. Zahn and the readers have composed a war story that allows the listener to feel empathy for both sides. The final book in the trilogy will be eagerly awaited.
