This audiobook, superbly performed by Paul English, is unlike anything you've ever read. Daisley details the feelings and behaviors of all these earthly beings with astounding precision, weighing them equally, as careful to describe exactly how you handle shearing tools or dig your whelping den as to convey the passions of the young (human and canine) and the hot- and cold-blooded violence of the old. The story has sweep and power and vivid scents and scenes, and will leave you with unforgettable afterimages.
