Shelly Peiken's memoir is an amusing and poignant take on her life as a writer of music and how her work has affected her over the years. The best part of this audiobook experience is listening to Peiken narrate her life. Each insight she gives becomes even more intriguing as one gets to hear her take on it. There's always something special when you hear an author read his or her story, and this is no different. She knows just when to change the inflection in her voice to match a more heartfelt section and when to add a humorous tone.
