PANDORA'S CLOCK

Nance expertly narrates his tense story of a biological threat to humanity. Through the plot and subplots, Nance keenly paces the rhythm of the story. Trapped on a Boeing-747, hundreds of people may be infected with a highly contagious virus that, if dispelled into the population, would wipe out a continent. No country wants the plane to land in their airport. Besides having nowhere to land, the pilot finds that someone is trying to shoot him down. Nance, an aviation analyst, describes the flight technology in easy terms throughout. This is a wonderful combination of an enthralling tale read by a well-versed storyteller. D.L.M.
