THE SOUL'S RELIGION Cultivating a Profoundly Spiritual Way of Life

by | Read by Nelson Runger

Spirituality • 12.25 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2002

Weaving personal stories with knowledgeable explanations of religious history, mystical texts, and psychological theory, Moore attempts an ambitious integration of these challenging topics. While it rambles in some places, and overgeneralizes in others, on the whole Moore's exploration of spirituality is fascinating. Nelson Runger's narration suits this intricate narrative well. Despite Moore's inclusion of names and terms from a dozen traditions, Runger's reading is always clear. His slow delivery creates a sense that he is discovering each word as he goes, and giving listeners time to digest these dense concepts. While sounding friendly throughout, his tone is likewise an interesting blend of the personal and professional. G.T.B. (c) AudioFile 2003, Portland, Maine [Published: JUN/JUL 03]
