THE UNDERTAKER'S DAUGHTER

Ilka Jensen, who lives in Copenhagen, inherits her father's funeral home. But there are three problems: One, it's in Wisconsin; two, she never knew her father; and three, once in the U.S., she happens upon an unsolved murder and the possibility of a killer at large. Narrator Molly Meyers capably takes listeners on this exploration of childhood and the struggle of midlife. She alternates between male and female characters with grace, helping listeners empathize with Ilka's attempts to learn about a parent from the people who knew him. Myers delivers descriptions of Wisconsin scenery and Ilka's ups and downs in a serene voice that serves a story that centers on soul-searching.
