DINNER MOST DEADLY John Pickett, Book 4

The team of Sheri Cobb South and Joel Froomkin continues with all its strengths. Lady Dunnington, concerned about her friend Lady Julia Fieldhurst's widowhood, plans a dinner of possible lovers for her friend's consideration. The men--ranging from the ridiculous to the crotchety--include the despised Sir Reginald Montague, who is murdered. Each character is given a distinctive personality by Froomkin. Add spirited Bow Street Runner John Pickett, and the action begins. Listeners will enjoy the chase and be surprised when Pickett reveals that--through a fluke in Scottish law--he and Lady Fieldhurst are married. Both parties sound appropriately concerned--and maybe hopeful. It's sad to hear that the marriage will be annulled due to their class differences. But must it?
