Narrator January LaVoy shows off her many voices while portraying Elliot, the fact-loving new kid at school, and Uchenna, a free spirit with a sense of adventure. The two become fast friends during a field trip to the Pine Barrens. While there, they have a run-in with the mythical Jersey Devil, who follows them home and escapes soon after. To rescue the mythical creature, they decide to team up with Professor Fauna. LaVoy transitions between characters so seamlessly that it sounds like there's more than one narrator. The emotions, especially the humor, throughout this well-crafted production create an enjoyable story. A.M.
