Cavanaugh arrives at Throgmorton Hall to check on his investment in a Throgmorton steam engine only to find the inventor dead and his children continuing the work. Felicia and Cavanaugh soon find common ground and begin to build a future together. Hill's deep voice, aristocratic-sounding British accent, and measured pace match the contemplative nature of both main characters. Hill adds a soupçon of wonder to both the romance and the thrill of scientific invention.
