FOR BETTER, FOR WORSE

With snappy, sometimes caustic dialogue, British storyteller Emilia Fox narrates this often humorous story of a wedding and the following six hours of fidelity. Fox captures bride Martha's outrage when her former husband appears at her wedding with a diamond ring for her that rivals the one she will receive from the groom. Fox switches to jubilant tones when Martha throws the ring into a nearby lake and a duck gobbles it down. She portrays Josie, Martha's newly single London cousin, with zany capriciousness. Although exceptional dialogue is used with clear and compelling vocal tones, off-color language may detract from the intended humor for some. G.D.W.
