Charlie, a bachelor sportswriter whose "guy biological clock" starts ticking, enlists the help of Lacy, a single mother who works on the newspaper's personal advice column, to find a mate. The ensuing entanglement of their relationship is revealed from alternate perspectives. The format of The Daddy Clock calls for two readers, and David Colacci and Susan Ericksen are the perfect pairing. They breathe life into the two characters as they banter and express their thoughts and emotions. Colacci and Ericksen read in a friendly, conversational style that gives listeners the feeling that they are sharing confidences. The quick pace and fresh, funny tone of the reading match Markey's dialogue, which is witty, insightful--and liberally peppered with the "F word."
