THE SHOP AT HOOPERS BEND

Set in a remote Australian town, this magical story of friendship, serendipity, and home is brought to life by narrator Wendy Bos. On her way to sleepaway camp, 11-year-old Quil happens upon an abandoned country store recently inherited by Bailey, a woman who has returned home after years away but who remains unsure what her next step will be. Alongside a spunky dog named Pirate, the pair form an unlikely friendship, built in part on their shared stardust qualities (or so Quil believes) and search for belonging. Bos's spirited performance, filled with memorable characters, high energy, and poignant reflections, transports the listener to an idyllic, though not uncomplicated, shop at the heart of a small town Down Under.
