Australian narrator Wendy Bos whisks listeners into a tale of mystery and intrigue set in a world where the lines between fantasy and reality are blurred. Stranded on the roadside during a field trip gone awry, Mrs. Fiori and her four students take shelter from an approaching storm in an abandoned mansion. When the group discovers a handmade book in a secret compartment, a story within a story begins. Bos gives characters Colin and Tara youthful voices filled with curiosity and caution, while skeptic Lucas is painted with tones of ignorance, and hopeful Grace is portrayed through bursts of naïve excitement. As the characters work their way through the enchanting novel, the group begins to identify disconcerting resemblances between the fairy tale and real life.
