This prequel to the Sword of Shannara not only includes many of the same characters as later installments and provides its “historical” underpinnings, it also explains how the sword came to be forged. Scott Brick is no stranger to this series. He carries the listener into a world of magic and adventure as the ongoing struggles between good and evil take place among Druids. Those who are familiar with Brick’s other narrations of the series will recognize the accents and characterizations that are uniquely his. His intensity and enthusiasm are unflagging.
