In this fearless contemporary monologue, actor Carey Mulligan delivers a working-class London accent to tell the story of a young woman on the rise who finds an interesting job and then maybe an interesting man whom she meets offhandedly in the queue at an airport. As children, arguments, and life ensue, Mulligan finds the dark and light emotional nooks and crannies that make the world go round. But she’s setting the listener up for something, let’s say, much bigger. Brash, intelligent, and at times brutal, this production, originally staged at the Royal Court Theatre in spring 2018, is intended for mature listeners.
