SACKED!

This Australian import starts when main character Edward notices that his mother's work is slipping: He found his red socks in the black sock drawer, and there are gray lumps in his mashed potatoes! Without thinking, Edward decides to fire her, and he soon finds himself trying to figure out how to make his own meals, wash his own clothes, and organize his own birthday party. Dino Marnika's breezy reading, combined with calliope music between chapters, suits the tone of a story that is not meant to be taken seriously.
