Mystery & Suspense • 15.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2003

Assistant DA Nina Frost puts away child molesters for a living and is good at it--until she finds that her own son has been molested. At the beginning of this mystery, she shoots the priest accused of the crime; then the narrative switches to the beginning of the story and moves along until she finds that he was the wrong man, and the hunt begins again. Nancy Black reads the text in sharp, abrupt tones with no clear differentiation between characters and scenes. As the point of view switches from first person to third and then back to a different first person, Black makes no attempt to help the listener keep the story line straight. Between the difficult subject matter and the confusing points of view, the listener really has to work at this audiobook. M.B.K. (c) AudioFile 2003, Portland, Maine [Published: OCT/ NOV 03]
