AN UNFINISHED LIFE

Thanks to unprecedented access to Kennedy family documents, including personal letters and previously unavailable medical files, Dallek presents more than "just another JFK biography." The foreword states the author's intention to paint an objective picture of the President's unfinished life, and this script does indeed portray both the dark and brilliant facets of JFK's life and public service. Reader Ed Sala provides little drama but, instead, offers energetic respect for the material and the subject. His subtle characterizations are just sufficient to imagine a hint of JFK's famous clipped tones. The conversational tone and pace deliver a measure of entertainment without being pedantic. N.M.C.
