THE HOLLOW CHOCOLATE BUNNIES OF THE APOCALYPSE

by | Read by Robert Rankin

Fiction • 12.25 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2003

A witty, sometimes grisly, piece of macabre fluff is read by the author. Once upon a time, a boy struck out for The City to make his fortune. He winds up in a metropolis populated by living toys, where Eddie Bear, stuffed animal detective, embroils him in a dangerous hunt for a killer. Someone's murdering nursery rhyme characters. In Cockney tones, Robert Rankin reads tolerably well, though with plenty of mercifully quiet mouth noises. This reviewer found him, as reader and writer, a bit tedious. It must be said that his humorous fantasies are wildly popular in Great Britain. Y.R. (c) AudioFile 2003, Portland, Maine [Published: OCT/ NOV 03]
