Hoak delivers his lectures on the character of Henry VIII, the revolutionary changes in Britain that resulted from his break with the Pope, and today's view of the events in a straightforward style. He enunciates each fact contained in the detailed outline provided. But he never gains that smooth flow of words and emotional involvement in the subject so near and dear to his heart, and the audible stops between each lecture, which noticeably mark the work of the editor, are annoying.
