BLACK AND BLUE Doug Brock, Book 3

The latest mystery from author David Rosenfelt is a wonderful weave of twists and unpredictability, ably narrated by Fred Berman, whose joy at narration is evident from the beginning. The procedural features New Jersey State Trooper Doug Brock, who is suffering from amnesia after having been shot in the line of duty. Brock must solve a murder while retracing his investigation of a previously unsolved killing. Berman is an ideal narrator. He convincingly conveys the characters' frustrations--whether it is Brock's difficulty dealing with his forgotten past, his girlfriend's unease with the state of their relationship, or his new partner's concerns about having a partner without a memory.
