TRUE SELF/ FALSE SELF

A broad-minded Franciscan priest addresses the problem of self, God, and the collective tribe in a nicely edited recording of a weekend seminar. Though the language is largely Christian, the thinking is broad. With uncommon inclusiveness, Father Rohr refers to ideas from many religious and philosophical traditions, including Buddhism and the advancing insights of quantum physics. He unravels the folly of individualistic religions--those that place man's intentions in a hierarchical grid based more on power than love and connection. The miracle of this discourse is the way Rohr weaves these ideas into a single fabric, one grounded in the notion of the true, unembellished self.
