OF PAUPERS AND PEERS

This sweet Regency romance is chock-full of characters whom narrator Stevie Zimmerman portrays to perfection. Complications abound. There's a missing duke with amnesia, a lovely but impoverished heroine who is bent on marrying off her more beautiful younger sister to restore the family's finances, and a series of misunderstandings that get in the way of anyone finding true love. Zimmerman romps through the story, deftly portraying each character with just the right British accent to make each believable. Male or female, rich or poor, old or young, each character is spot-on as Zimmerman reaches into her repertoire to find just the right accent and tone. This is a lovely listen, expertly presented.
