JUSTICE

by | Read by Christopher Lane

Mystery & Suspense • 11.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2003

Staying one step ahead of the police, a vigilante who calls himself "Justice" is killing drug dealers in New York City and giving away their profits. Aided by Christopher Lane's well-paced reading, the novel is entertaining, although Justice's exploits frequently defy belief. Lane's reading is particularly effective in his depiction of know-it-all Detective Cisco Sanchez and his partner, Brian McKenzie. Sanchez comes across as smart and smug, yet surprisingly amiable, while McKenzie's irritation with his partner emerges equally clearly. JUSTICE requires the listener to suspend logic at times, but Mahoney's fans will enjoy the book, as will anyone interested in the intricacies of police procedure.
