WHITE WOLF

This heroic fantasy is typical of Gemmell's action-oriented style, and Christopher Kay's meticulous narration is well suited to its imaginative plot, featuring battle scenes and violence. Druss the Axeman and Skilgannon the Damned meet when they face a common foe, the werebeasts known as Joinings, who endanger all of Drenai. Kay's crisp, sculptured tones nimbly race through scenes of swordplay and adeptly handle the dialogue and descriptions of exotic lands, magic, and characters. Kay seems completely caught up in Gemmell's examination of friendship and heroism and the slim line between good and evil. S.C.A.
