UNCOVERED

This Australian production features nine short stories that weave together elements of fantasy, humor, and horror in unusual ways. Narrator Stig Wemyss knows how to get all the laughs out of stories like "Too Many Rabbits" and all the suspense out of stories like "Listen Ear." At the same time, he is less successful when the stories call for a quiet tone, as in the bittersweet "Forever." In one story, Wemyss even shouts when the text's speech tag indicates a whisper. The production itself also suffers from excessive mouth noises. Even with a few weaknesses, this production is great for children who like scary stories and are looking for something off the beaten path. A.F.
