Although intended for patients with diabetes, or their relatives, these informational tapes would benefit all those at risk--the overweight and sedentary--offering them the power to change. The up-to-date information ranges from the simple (wear clean socks) to the kinky (how penile-implant pumps operate) to the impossible (the generic names of dozens of diabetes medicines). Faced with making a Powerpoint-type presentation, Richard M. Davidson jumps from statement to statement of do's and don'ts, tending to raise his voice for the last word of his sentences. If the last word happens to be DEATH or BLINDNESS, the result is unsettling. However, Davidson's clarity makes him an excellent choice for informational recordings. J.A.H.
