A MIND AT A TIME

by | Read by Brian Keeler

Personal Growth • 17 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2002

Brian Keeler's gentle, leisurely delivery works against him at the start of this book about children's learning styles because the author starts too slowly, taking too much time to review basic ideas (that children learn differently, need different approaches, etc.). However, once the material moves into stories about children Levine has worked with and explanations of physiological or pedagogical distinctions, the book takes off, and Keeler's delivery fits it perfectly. He communicates the author's deep sympathy for children, his frustration with inadequate teaching methods, and his visionary optimism, making the later sections of the book highly engaging. G.T.B.
