Earphones Award Winner

by | Read by Richard Poe

Mystery & Suspense • 18.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2000

Like its predecessor, THE DA VINCI CODE, this novel features Harvard art historian Richard Langdon, who finds himself thrust into the middle of a plot by an ancient secret society to murder the Pope and blow up the Vatican. Whenever the book seems to reach a climax, the plot twists, and the ending is astounding. Richard Poe’s reading is also a masterpiece. While Poe may not be as well-known as other readers, this performance demonstrates that he is among the audiobook elite. From book to book, Poe sounds different because he changes his tones and uses subtle inflections to give every character a distinct persona. In addition, Poe’s ability to pause at key moments adds dramatically to his performance. D.J.S. Winner of AUDIOFILE Earphones Award © AudioFile 2004, Portland, Maine [Published: JUN/ JUL 04]
