COUNSELS FROM MY HEART

One of the few collections of oral teachings in English by the meditation master of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism is now available in an accessible and stunningly performed audiobook. Largely composed of talks the author gave during the 1970s in both the East and West, the production also includes a short autobiography and an introduction to the Buddhist concept of the great perfection. Narrator Simon Callow infuses the lessons with vibrant emotion, at times milking each word into its own unique vibration. Callow's resonating performance works beautifully for the two poems that are included, as well as the concise instructions for taming the mind, in which the meaning behind each word profoundly matters.
