Francesca Vierling is back. And so is her creator, Elaine Viets, reading the fourth in her mystery series featuring the six-foot-tall, foul-mouthed St. Louis columnist. This time someone is going on a killing spree wherever medical care is ill-served. While accompanying her journalistic mentor, Georgia, to radiation therapy for breast cancer, the two women are astonished at the rude and impersonal treatment the patients are receiving. But even Francesca doubts that the discourtesy warrants gunning down the medical staff. Viets's warm, friendly voice and her cynical wit pull the listener in by the earlobes, giving a rip-roaring ride through medical offices and the dressing rooms of male strippers in her latest adventure.
