THE DOLAN DEBT

A cowhand looking for his missing brother wanders ever deeper into a web of intrigue, which duty compels him to untangle. This leanly written Western is transcended by an ideal reader. Narrator Gene Engene sounds like the archetypal cowpoke spinning a yarn. He gives his cast a range of color and individuality, which simply isn't in the text. Still, this spare story probably won't hold many listeners other than genre devotees. The audio production is spare, as well; problems include mediocre sound, stray noises and rough graphics.
