Kate Burton brings genuine suspense to this thriller/sci-fi hybrid. She vocalizes arson investigator Kerry Murphy clearly and evokes touching emotion as Kerry relives a childhood fire and endures the amazing, yet painful, ability her injuries created. As Kerry tracks a psychopathic arsonist, she encounters a diverse cast of characters--including an English butler, a Southern senator, and a North Korean operative--who showcase Burton's range of vocalizations. She creates a delicious taste of irony by depicting the killer in tones as sweet as cotton candy.
