THE MASTER QUILTER

Christina Moore's narration of the latest title in the Elm Creek Quilts series requires her to stretch as she artfully depicts four women who have created a community through quilting. Together they secretly try to create a wedding quilt for the matriarch of the group. Summer's youthfulness, Bonnie's confusion and anger over her husband's betrayal, and Diane's toughness and vulnerability are all conveyed through Moore's voice. The structure of the writing, which looks at the same events through different eyes, is particularly effective in the audio format as each character's voice, particularly those who are antagonists, is used to show how different viewpoints influence perception.
