Former Marine Oliver North gives a grunt's view of fighting soldiers invading Iraq. Having been embedded with Army and Marine units, North brings remarkable detail, colorful characters, and real insight into combat in the 21st century. There is a tendency to fall into the military "alphabet soup" of acronyms and nicknames, but for the most part, North gets his facts straight. Unfortunately, his right-wing point of view taints the end of the story but doesn't diminish his admirable accomplishment. With a preface read by the author, the production features narrator Joel Leffert, who creates concern and sympathy for the soldiers dodging mortar and bullets. R.O.
