BLIND BEAUTY

Four-year-old Tessa is heartbroken when her parents divorce and she must leave Shiner, the blind horse that her father bred. She's had a difficult life and has no interest in anything until she encounters the ugly but great racehorse Buffoon, who happens to be Shiner's colt. Narrator Nikki Paull captures the difficult and angry Tessa and everyone she meets on the road to becoming a relative rarity--a female jockey. The story's horse lore remains interesting for most listeners, thanks to Paull's thoughtful delivery. Horse lovers old and young will enjoy it.
