When Christ began his ministry, he asked, "Who do you say I am?" Clerics and religious scholars over the ages have given a variety of answers. Based on a collection of published lectures, this work features a Fordham theology professor explaining their answers in a sweeping and attractive essay she narrates herself. The presentation is intellectual without being academic, and it avoids polemics and personal views. Keeping the question of Jesus in mind, Johnson describes how rational, existential, and spiritual views of Him have alternated over the centuries. Though the author is an adequate speaker, better sound quality or even a live lecture recording would have made this audio more enjoyable. T.W.
