Narrator Natalie Britton is so good the listeners will swear they're hearing a full-cast audio. Part 1 of Nicci French's latest chiller focuses on Astrid, a bicycle messenger who shares a house with six roommates. They know each other well--or so they think. Astrid is thrown from her bike when a neighbor opens her car door as Astrid is passing, causing a spectacular accident. Days later, the neighbor is found murdered, beaten to death. Britton gives the housemates identifiable voices and personalities, subtly suggesting that each has embarrassing secrets. When more women connected to Astrid are murdered, the police become suspicious, and Britton delivers the mounting tension.
