EASY PREY

by | Read by Richard Ferrone

Mystery & Suspense • 12.75 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2000

Sandford and Ferrone have deservedly been called a great team (AudioFile, Feb-97), and EASY PREY, with its perceptive writing and well-paced celebrity murder plot, is one of their best. Author and narrator are both virtuosi of mid-American speech. They give police character Lucas Davenport a laid-back, sophisticated, tough-guy persona that makes the reader forget how uncanny are his skills, his luck, and his magnetism for extraordinary women. Also, this reviewer likes Lucas as portrayed by Ferrone and doesn't want to question his cavalier attitude toward constraints on police conduct. The book's realism and some of its hero's actions may not bear close scrutiny, but who cares? It's a fine listen. K.C. © AudioFile 2001, Portland, Maine [Published: FEB/MAR 01]
