Narrator Barrie Kreinik presents this horror story with an impeccable you-are-there feel. Listeners will meet Evie, who is taking advantage of an offer by a mysterious Greek organization to end her gambling addiction and pay her bills. Upon arrival at a monastery on a remote island, Kreinik's sweet-natured Evie meets international addicts of all ages who are there for the same reason. Soon they learn that they're required to give up all forms of ID, work in small groups, and solve six challenges. The action escalates as family members search for people who have gone missing. Accents and temperaments are delivered accurately, and emotions rise as the situation becomes increasingly diabolical. Audio is a must to maintain focus on the sizable cast and lightning-fast action.
